�r��,� �'��1�t I�k.�S�-_ PUBLIC HEARING—ORDINANCE AMENDMENT Application: Ordinance Amendment regarding Maintenance and Exterior Storage Applicant: City of Pequot Lakes Agenda Item: 4 (c) Background Information: As part of developing an Enforcement Policy, the City Attorney recommended adding language to the City Code regarding enforcement and standards. Staff and the City Attorney have prepared the attached Ordinance Amendment for your consideration. The City Attorney suggested the Planning Commission consider adding some or all of the following provisions in place of or in addition to the proposed language for 2.a EXTERIOR MAINTENANCE: (�) No�art of any exterior surface mav have deterioration, holes, breaks,.�aps,loose or rotting boards or timbers. (2)Every exterior surface that has had a surface finish such as paint ap�lied must be maintained to avoid noticeable deterioration of the finish. No wall or other exterior surface may have en elingi cracked, chipped or otherwise deteriorated surface finish on more than 20 percent of• a. anv one wall or other flat surface; or b. all door and window moldings, eaves, tters, and similar projections on anv one side or surface. (3)No glass,including windows and exterior light fixtures, mav be broken or cracked, and no screens may be torn or separated from moldin�s. (4)Exterior doors and shutters must be hung�ro�erly and have an operable mechanism to keep them securelv shut or in place. , (5)Cornices, moldings,lintels,sills,bav or dormer windows, and '� similar�rojections must be kept in good repair and free from cracks '� and defects that make them hazardous or unsightik '' (6)Roof surfaces must be tight and have no defects that admit water.
