POLICE DEPARTMENT
Kevin Merschman, Chief
8361 Co. Rd. 11
Breezy Point, MN 56472
218- 562 -4488
March 11, 2010
City of Pequot Lakes
Pequot Lakes City Council
31108 Government Drive
PO Box 361
Pequot Lakes, MN 56472
Dear Pequot Lakes City Council,
You may already be aware but I would like to bring to your attention a program that we are very proud
to have brought to Breezy Point. The Breezy Point Police Paramedic program that began in 2005 has
been very successful at bringing advanced emergency care to the citizens of Breezy Point and
surrounding areas.
The attached informational sheet explains how our program operates and why it has become such a
success. I hope that you agree that this is a cost effective approach to improving the area emergency
medical services. Ideal Township has also benefited when the Police Paramedics have responded to
calls for assistance within your community.
Currently one of our paramedics has a 12 lead cardiac monitor that has been supplied and is maintained
by North Memorial Ambulance. North Memorial has agreed to maintain a second monitor if we will
arrange for the purchase. A reconditioned monitor is available for approximately $7,000.
We are currently raising these funds and I would like to request a contribution from your organization to
this valuable program so that we may improve our capabilities and ultimately save lives.
Respectfully,
Chief Kevin Merschman
Breezy Point Police Department
