Pequot Lakes Community Library <br />Board of Directors Minutes <br />Tuesday, March 16, 2010- 6:30 <br />`'1Vlembers present: John Longnecker, David Anderson, Nancy Adams, Sam Hennes, Tina Hanneken. Members <br />absent: Lydia Loven; Claire Nagel. <br />John Longnecker called the meeting to order. <br />A motion was made to approve the December minutes. Dave made a motion. Nancy seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />Treasurer's Report: Total Certificates: $73,373.46 <br />Total Library Checking account- $5,906.53 <br />Total Library Building Fund checking- $3,691.03 <br />Library CD matures on 4- 16 -10 -- $52,500.00 <br />-David is going to look at other savings/CD options <br />-David is going to inform the city council regarding plans for the CD <br />-Sam made a motion to accept the Treasurer's report. Nancy seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />Volunteer Coordinator- 3 new volunteers <br />- Because many of our patrons use their cell phone rather than a land line, we have purchased a long <br />distance phone package. The library did not have long distance service. <br />Publicity- Claire will be writing her article from Florida. (Lucky!) <br />Kitchigami agreement- 4 programs are available to us. The next one is Legacy Amendment—Memoir Writing. <br />This will be a program that requires advance sign up. We are also given $5,000 to use on materials from now <br />�►ntil December. <br />Conversations with... - continue with these programs on an "as needed" basis. <br />Possible topics: May —Heart Institute in Brainerd; Donna Collins — Ukrainian Eggs; Chris _ -- Fishing <br />gear; Man from Hackensack with presentation on the 1920's. <br />Extra Room/Meeting Room has been used extensively. (Medicare Part D; Taxes; Quilting group -4-5 weeks; <br />storytime; census) <br />Classic Movie Night- John mentioned doing a movie night at the library. There was discussion with the general <br />consensus that this was a fun idea. <br />Walking map -A motion was made to advertise for $60 in the Youth As Resources walking map. Sam made the <br />motion. Nancy seconded that motion. Motion carried <br />Friends of Library —We would like to do an organizational meeting in early June, explaining different volunteer <br />opportunities. <br />- Discussion of different social options: Madden's; Breezy Point; wine /cheese; pie /ice cream <br />Popcorn Wagon —Dave Sjoblad may be interested in running the wagon during social functions. <br />Sam made a motion to adjourn.
