Derksen VIA PERSONAL SERVICE <br /> 311i6 Ash Street <br /> Pequot Lakes, MN 564�2 <br /> Re: NOTICE—IMMEDIATE CORREGTIVE ACTION REQLTIRED <br /> City Urdinance�olations at 3iii6 Ash Street,Pequot Lakes,MN 564� <br /> Dear Mr.and Mrs. Derksen: <br /> I am writing in my capacity as Zoning Specialist for the City of Pequot Lakes(the"Cifiy'� <br /> � concerning the status of the code violations and public nuisance conditions on your <br /> above-referenced property located at 3i�i6 Ash Street(the"Property"). <br /> Initially,please be advised that the City Council voted at its June 6,2oi�meeting to <br /> rescind its previous approval(on May 2,201�)of an agreement with you for the removal <br /> of code violations and nuisance conditions on your property on the grounds that the City <br /> Council was misinformed the agreement's contents when it approved the agreement, <br /> and there was no agreement between the parties to the contract about its essential terms <br /> (i.e,the council believed it was retaining its right to charge any eventual costs it incurs <br /> in performing any of the specified corrective actions that you fail to perform after due <br /> notice as an assessment against your property,whereas the markup presented to the <br /> City Attorney immediately prior to the meeting removed the language authorizing such <br /> an assessment). The City Council took no further action with respect to your property at <br /> its June 6,2oi�meeting. <br /> I am writing now to again notify you that there are conditions remaining on the Property <br /> that violate the City's Code of Ordinances(the"Cifiy Code")and which constitute a <br /> public nuisance that must be addressed to bring your property into compliance. <br /> Specifically,there remains miscellaneous junk,construction materials,brush/branches, <br /> furniture,and other debris accumulated in plain site on the Property in violation of the <br /> �' 1 <br /> "This institution is an equal oPPortunity provider and employer." <br />
