ORDINANCE NO. i�-o�, SECOND SERIES � AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPrI'ER 3 OF THE CITY CODE REGARDING BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS GENERALLY CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES COUN'I'Y OF CROW WING STATE OF MINNESOTA The City Council of the City of Pequot Lakes does ordain as follows: Purpose and Intent: The purpose of this ordinance amendment is to amend Chapter 3 of the Pequot Lakes City Code relating to Boards and Commissions Generally. Amendment: Chapter 3,Article 3.�shall be amended as follows: All Board and Commission appointments authorized by ordinance or resolution shall be made by the Mayor, and such appointment confirmed by the Council at the first regular meeting in January of each year. The term of each appointee shall be established and stated at the time of his appointment, and terms of present Board and Commission members may be re-established and changed so as to give effect to this Section. No Board or Commission member shall be appointed to more than�e three consecutive three-year terms. New appointees shall assume office on�t�January 1, d-�tta�December 31 �... being the date of expiration of terms. Provided,however,that all appointees to Board and Commissions shall hold o�ce until their successor is appointed and qualified. All vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as for an expired term, but the appointment shall be effective immediately when made and only for the unexpired term. All appointed Board and Commission members shall serve without remuneration, but may be reimbursed for out-of-pocket expenses incurred in the performance of their duties when such expenses have been authorized by the Council before they were incurred. The Chair�� and Vice Chair t�rc,��a� shall be chosen from and by the Board or Commission membership annually to serve for one year. Provided, however, that no Chair�r shall be elected who has not completed at least one year as a member of the Board or Commission. Any Board or Commission member may be removed by the Council for misfeasance, malfeasance or nonfeasance in office and his position filled as any other vacancy. Each Board and Commission shall hold its regular meeting at a time established and approved by the Council. All Commission meetings are conducted in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order. Passed and adopted by the Pequot Lakes City Council this 2nd day of May, 201�. Effective Date: This ordinance amendment shall be in full force and effect from and after passage and publication according to state law. � Repeal: This ordinance shall repeal all ordinances inconsistent herewith.
