City Council Minutes <br />December 6, 2011 <br />Page 9 <br />----------------------------------- <br />longer require recordkeeping of business use of an employer - provided cell <br />phone in order to receive this tax -free treatment as long as the phone is <br />issued and used primarily for business reasons. <br />The Clerk also noted that prior to this ruling, a city- issued cell phone used <br />for any type of personal use would be taxed. In addition to that, employers <br />were required to keep extensive records to show which calls were <br />business related and which were personal (i.e. this is considered listed <br />property). <br />COUNCIL MEMBER MALECHA MOVED TOAOMT THE REVISED <br />CELL PHONE POLICY.
