Chair Ronning suggested using the <br /> grant to get a detailed plan for the skate park by November 15, 2017. <br /> 7. Bands in the Park <br /> Nancy Adams suggested starting the Bands in the Park program two weeks <br /> earlier next year because it is too dark by 9:00 p.m. during the last two weeks of <br /> August. Another suggestion was to start earlier at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding the bands, start date and time of shows, and the <br /> budget. The consensus of the Park Commission agreed that the last two weeks <br /> of the Bands in the Park program will have the start/end times changed from 7:00 <br /> p.m.-9:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. <br /> The consensus of the Commission also agreed to increase the 2019 budget for <br /> bands from $7,000 to $10,000. The Park Commission discussed having a <br /> Commission member work with Staff on the booking of the bands. The <br /> Commission tabled this discussion until next month to bring forth information <br /> regarding the bands in the park to make a final decision. <br /> 8. Park Brochures <br /> � Dawn Bittner stated we have 18 Discover Rack locations and ordered 5,000 <br /> brochures vs 7,000 in 2016. The Discover Rack fee for 2017 was $405.00 and <br /> $288.75 was spent printing the brochures. <br /> 9. Other Business <br /> Dawn Bittner stated that the Mayo Lake Nature Preserve volunteer project for <br /> clean-up work will be held on October 21, 2017 and the City Council approved <br /> the proposal. <br /> Mike Loven ordered 1,000 feet of additional Christmas lights for the Park and it <br /> was noted that City banners on the CSAH 11 bridge are not allowed per MnDOT <br /> regulations. <br /> Chair Ronning asked if any grants are available from the Crow Wing County Soil <br /> and Water Conservation District for roundabout landscaping. Commissioner <br /> Sjoblad will research this and report back to the Commission at the October <br /> meeting. Chair Ronning stated that Mayor Adams suggested contacting MnDOT <br /> on what they plant in other roundabout locations. <br /> 10. Adiournment <br /> There being no further business, COMISSIONER NAGEL MOVED TO <br /> `-' ADJOURN THE MEETING. COMISSIONER PEARSON SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED 7-0. <br />
