Park Commission Minutes <br /> DATE May 11, 2017 <br /> Page 2 <br /> ------------------------- <br /> � 5. Skate Park—Verbal Update <br /> Dawn Bittner explained the County has updated their records indicating the <br /> parcel south of East Woodman Street as MNDOT right-of-way. There will be no <br /> cost to the committee when the City gets the turnbacks in 2018. The Park <br /> Commission needs to make a recommendation to the City Council for the <br /> preferred Skate Park location. <br /> COMMISSIONER BRYAN MOVED TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> THE MNDOT PARCEL SOUTH OF EAST WOODMAN STREET BETWEEN 371 <br /> AND THE PAUL BUNYAN TRAIL AS THE PREFERRED LOCATION FOR THE <br /> SKATE PARK. COMMISSIONER JURCHEN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE <br /> MOTION CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 6. Snowflakes & Banners <br /> Mike Loven prepared a map with locations of poles with power boxes on it. Mike <br /> Loven recommended we retire the snowFlakes due to the fact they are in very <br /> poor condition and are not worth repairing. The banners are still in good condition <br /> and will continue to be used. <br /> �- COMMISSIONER NAGEL MOVED TO RETIRE SNOWFLAKES. <br /> COMMISSIONER BRYAN SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION CARRIED <br /> 5-0. <br /> 7. Trailside Park Plan Design Review <br /> Dawn Bittner passed out the 2017 Events brochure and explained the Park <br /> Commission needs to make a recommendation to the City Council regarding the <br /> amenity design concepts. These concepts are recommendations from the TCI <br /> Quality of Life Task Force. <br /> COMMISSIONER JURCHEN MOVED TO RECOMMEND THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> APPROVE THE AMENITY DESIGN CONCEPTS AS RECOMMENDED BY THE <br /> THRIVING COMMUNITY INITIATIVE QUALITY OF LIFE TASK FORCE. <br /> COMMISSIONER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. THE MOTION <br /> CARRIED 5-0. <br /> 8. Other Business <br /> Commissioner Nagel questioned what is going to happen to the Fire Tower. <br /> Dawn Bittner stated there has been no decision on the Fire Tower. <br /> � <br />
