The snowflakes are electrically lit. Some of <br /> the snowflakes need repair. The wiring is getting brittle. <br /> Commissioner Jurchen stated the snowflakes shop up in the dark; the banners <br /> don't show up at night. Chair Ronning stated the park lit up attracts your <br /> attention during the holidays. <br /> Mr. Loven stated some electrical services need to be replaced. The banners <br /> could come down on the poles with power and leave the banners up on the poles <br /> without power. <br /> 8. Equiqment to Install Banners. Etc. <br /> Mike Loven explained we shouldn't have volunteers changing our banners. We <br /> need to be able to do it ourselves and be able to afford it. The banners go up <br /> and down finrice a year; the snowflakes would need to be put up and taken town <br /> each year. We will also need to hire someone to put the lights on the trees in <br /> Trailside Park as they have grown so tall. <br /> �. When asked, Mr. Loven stated the lights in the park work when repaired. He <br /> then displayed a lamp and bracket that had recently been vandalized. The <br /> Mayor is proposing the lights in the park be replaced to match the lights on the <br /> new bridge and North Washington Avenue. The estimated price is $4,000 each. <br /> Mr. Loven stated it will be expensive to hire someone with a lift. He received a <br /> quote for$100 per hour and $150 delivery to and from Pequot Lakes. We need <br /> to budget a machine and labor. The 2018 Budgets are due in June, 2017. Chair <br /> Ronning directed Mr. Loven to budget money for the snowflake and banner <br /> installation and removal. <br /> Mr. Loven will provide a map in May indicating light poles and those with electric <br /> outlets. <br /> 9. Other Business <br /> Park Commission Vacancy: <br /> Dawn Bittner reminded the Commission that there is still a vacancy and if they <br /> know of someone interested to have them complete an application. <br /> Day of Caring is Wednesday, May 3. Applications need to be in by April 28. <br /> Mike Loven stated the students could mulch the gardens. Dawn Bittner was <br /> �_.,, directed to complete the application. <br />
