Call Meetin�to Order <br /> The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. <br /> 2. Task Force Updates <br /> Economy—Mark Jurchen updated the Committee on the following. <br /> • The Heart of the Good Life Facebook page is up and running. <br /> • Billboards along the Highway 371 expressway will not happen at this time due to action <br /> taken by the Pequot Lakes Planning Commission and City Council. <br /> � Trailblazing sign applications have been received with a total of six signs spoken for. <br /> • A community sign on the Babinski property along Highway 371 is still in the infancy <br /> stage. <br /> • A draft logo for The Heart of the Good Life was distributed and the Economy Task Force <br /> will continue to make revisions. <br /> • A video highlighting Pequot Lakes is being explored for 2018. <br /> Quality of Life—Molly Zins and 1im Park updated the Committee on the following. <br /> � Grants are being submitted for the hike/bike/ski trail mapping tool. Cultural and natural <br /> history information, kiosks,and signage will also have an online presence. <br /> • A sledding hill location is being explored. <br /> • A temporary skate park location has been determined with Community Action willing to <br /> pay for the resurfacing of a block of City street east of the bobber water tower. A <br /> $1,500 grant has been secured for design schematics for a permanent skate park. <br /> • The Heart of the Good Life website had 73 hits last month and there are 19 business <br /> sponsorships. Discussion ensued as to who will own the site and maintain it into <br /> perpetuity. <br /> Workforce—Chris Lindholm noted the Patriot Foundation is up and running and the idea of an <br /> alumni outreach event and fundraiser is being considered. <br /> Discussion ensued regarding a community celebration in the spring in coordination with the <br /> Trailside Park Improvement Project groundbreaking ceremony and/or the August National Night <br />
