wetlands, vegetative buffers, sewage treatment and water supply capabilities, and
other conservation- designed actions.
Section 17 -11.9 SUBDIVISION.
3. The City of Pequot Lakes may require that an applicant establish an escrow
account or other financial security for the purpose of reimbursing the City for
direct costs relating to professional services provided during the review,
approval and inspection of the project. The City may charge the applicant a
rate equal to the value of the service to the City. Services provided by City
staff or contract professionals will be billed at an established rate.
All members voted "aye ". Motion carried.
APPLICANT: City of Pequot Lakes
Applicant requests an Ordinance Amendment to Parking Requirements
Mr. Marohn explained the Staff Report.
Public Comment: None.
The proposed maximum requirements could create massive parking lots losing green
space. We may want to prevent massive parking lots. We could simplify by using just
minimums. In the Downtown Mixed Use zone critical tax base could be lost when it is
used for parking. Parking is addressed in Section 17 -5.13, Light Industrial zone, and
should not be included in Section 17 -7.10.
A motion was made by Tom Adams, secoi
as follows:
Section 17 -7.10 PARKING
by Bill Habein, to amend Section 17 -7.10
1. General. Onsite parking or garage space shall be provided in all Districts,
except as specifically exempted. There shall be adequate drive access to prevent
the need to back onto collector streets or County Highways. Onsite parking spaces
shall not be used for storage.
2. Dimensions. Parking sites shall be a minimum of 20 feet long and 10 feet
wide.
3. Parking Ratios. Adequate parking shall be required, with the following
standards
to be guidelines subject to site specific review by the Planning Commission:
Minutes
Pequot Lakes Planning Commission
December 17, 2009
4
