Mr. Graham <br /> stated that he is being ignored since he has not heard anything more on � <br /> this issue. Council Member Loukota informed Mr. Graham that a shared ' <br /> roads plan is on the agenda to be discussed this evening. I,, <br /> � <br /> 5. Presentations � <br /> 5.1. Mayo Lake Nature Preserve Forest Management Proposal , <br /> Keith Simar presented the Mayo Lake Nature Preserve Forest � <br /> Management Proposal including a list of potential projects for the Mayo <br /> Lake Nature Preserve. Mr. Simar is proposing a volunteer work day for <br /> October 21St for cleanup and would like permission to do the work with <br /> himself leading the volunteers. <br /> COUNCIL MEMBER AKERSON MOVED TO APPROVE THE MAYO � <br /> LAKE NATURE PRESERVE FOREST MANAGEMENT PROPOSAL AS <br /> PRESENTED BY KEITH SIMAR. COUNCIL MEMBER SWANSON � <br /> SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0 <br /> 5.2. Hiqhway 371 Expansion Project Update <br /> No representative from Mathiowetz Construction was present for the <br /> update. <br /> Kelvin Howieson, District State Aid Engineer from MnDOT addressed the <br /> Council and reviewed the road turnback and funding concerns in the letter <br /> from the City dated August 17, 2017. Mr. Howieson stated that MnDOT <br /> will be able to meet the proposed April/May 2018 deadline to release the <br /> roads to Crow Wing County. <br /> Council Member Akerson questioned when the monies will be available to <br /> the City. Mr. Howieson explained the funding comes from a County State <br /> Aid Highway account and once the roads are released to Crow Wing <br /> County they will need to pass a resolution to designate Patriot Avenue as <br /> a County State Aid Road for a short time to follow all the statutory <br /> requirements. Crow Wing County will then send the resolution to the <br /> State for approval along with a payment request. He expects the funds <br /> should be released by no laterthan July 1, 2018. <br />
