Citv of Pequot Lakes Citv of Pequot Lakes Personnel Policies <br /> Title:Accommodations Effective Date: [date adopted] <br /> Effective Date(s)of Amendment(s): <br /> Procedure-Job Applicants. <br /> A. The job applicant shall inform the City Administrator of the need for an <br /> accommodation and they will discuss the needed accommodation and possible <br /> alternatives with the applicant. <br /> B. The City Administrator will make a decision regarding the request for accommodation <br /> and, if approved,take the necessary steps to see that the accommodation is provided. <br /> Procedure for determining undue hardship. <br /> A. The employee will meet with the City Administrator to discuss the requested <br /> accommodation. <br /> B. The City Administrator will review undue hardships by considering the following: <br /> 1. The nature and cost of the accommodation in relation to the size,the <br /> financial resources,and the nature and structure of the operation; and <br /> 2. The impact of the accommodation on the nature or operation of the City. <br /> 3. The City Administrator will provide a decision to the employee. <br /> 16.1.3 Appeals <br /> Employees or applicants who are dissatisfied with the decision(s) pertaining to <br /> his/her accommodation request may initiate a grievance under the grievance <br /> procedure in these policies. If the individual believes the decision is based on <br /> discriminatory reasons,then they may address their concerns internally through the <br /> City's internal workplace issues resolution policy in these policies. <br /> 16.1.4 Supported work <br /> The City will review vacant positions and assess the current workload and needs of the <br /> City to determine if job tasks might be performed by a supported employment <br /> worker(s). <br /> 16.2 ReasonableAccommodations to an Employee for Health Conditions Relating to <br /> Pregnancy <br /> The City will attempt to provide a female employee who requests reasonable accommodation <br /> with the following for her health conditions related to her pregnancy or childbirth. <br /> • more frequent restroom,food, and water breaks; <br /> � seating; <br /> • limits on lifting over 20 pounds and/or temporary transfer to a less strenuous or <br /> hazardous position, should one be available. <br /> 46 <br />
