Citv of Pequot Lakes Citv of Pequot Lakes Personnel Policies <br /> Title: Employee Education and Training Effective Date: [date adopted] <br /> Effective Date(s)of,4mendment(s): <br /> 15.3 Out of State Travel <br /> Attendance at training or conferences out of state is approved only if the training or conference <br /> is not available locally. All requests for out of state travel are reviewed for approval/disapproval <br /> by the City Council. <br /> 15.4 Not to Exceed Figure <br /> Payment of training and/or conference expenses must not exceed budgetary amounts as set forth <br /> bythe employees'supenrisor. Exceptions must receive approval by the City Council. <br /> 15.5 Compensation for Travel &Training Time <br /> Time spent travelingto and from, as well as time spent attending a training session or <br /> conference,will be compensated in accordance with the federal Fair Labor Standards Act. <br /> Travel and other related training expenses will be reimbursed subject to the employee <br /> providing necessary receipts and appropriate documentation as established in City of <br /> Pequot Lakes Travel Regulation & Expense Reimbursement Policy for City Employees and <br /> Elected OfFicials. <br /> 15.6 Memberships and Dues <br /> The purpose of inemberships to various professional organizations must be directly related to <br /> the betterment of the services of the City. Normally,one City membership per employee, as <br /> determined by the City Council is allowed, providing funds are available. Upon separation of <br /> employment,individual memberships remain with the City and are transferred to another <br /> employee by the supervisor. <br /> 15.7 Travel &Meal Allowance <br /> Any reimbursement of expenses for meals, lodging and necessary expenses incurred is subject <br /> to City of Pequot Lakes Travel Regulation & Expense Reimbursement Policy for City <br /> Employees and Elected Officials. <br /> 43 <br />
