Citv of Pequot Lakes Citv of Pequot Lakes Personnel Policies <br /> Title:Separation from Service Effective Date: [date adopted] <br /> Effective Date(s)ofAmendment(s): <br /> SECTION 12 SEPARATION FROM SERVICE <br /> 12.1 Resignations <br /> Employees wishing to leave the City service in good standing must provide a written resignation <br /> notice to their supervisor, at least ten (10) working days before leaving. Exempt employees <br /> must give thirty(30) calendar days' notice.The written resignation must state the efFective date <br /> of the employee's resignation. <br /> Unauthorized absences from work for a period of three consecutive work days may be <br /> considered as resignation without proper notice. <br /> Failure to comply with this procedure may be cause for denying the employee's severance pay <br /> and any future employment with the City. <br /> 12.2 Severance Pay <br /> Employees who leave the employment of the City in good standing by retirement or <br /> resignation will receive pay for 100 percent of unused accrued vacation, compensatory, and <br /> personal leave time. Upon separation from employment, either due to retirement,voluntary <br /> or involuntary termination for whatever reason,full-time and regular part-time employees <br /> with five to nine (5-9)years of service with the City of Pequot Lakes shall also receive pay for <br /> ten percent (10%) of unused accrued sick leave up to a maximum 960 hours. Employees with <br /> ten (10) or more years of service with the City of Pequot Lakes shall also receive pay for <br /> twenty five percent (25%) of unused accrued sick leave up to a maximum of 960 hours. <br /> 39 <br />
