The time ofF inay be without pay,with <br /> pay, or made up with other hours, as agreed between the employee and employer.When an <br /> employee takes time off without pay,the employer shall make an effort to allow the employee <br /> to make up the time with other hours when the employee is available. <br /> 10.17 Civil Air Patrol <br /> An employee may receive a leave of absence without pay for time spent rendering service as a <br /> member of the civil air patrol on the request and under the authority of the state or any of its <br /> political subdivisions, unless the leave would unduly disrupt the operations of the employer. <br /> 10.18 Domestic Abuse and Harassment Restraining Order Leave <br /> An employee may take reasonable time off from work to obtain or attempt to obtain relief <br /> under the Domestic Abuse Act, Minn. Stat. § 5186.01(2014), as amended or a restraining order <br /> under Minn. Stat. § 609.748(2014), as amended. Except in cases of imminent dangerto the <br /> health or safety of the employee or the employee's child, or unless impracticable, an employee <br /> who is absent from the workplace shall give 48 hours' advance notice to the employer. Upon <br /> request of the employer,the employee shall provide verification that supports the employee's <br /> reason for being absent from the workplace. All information related to the employee's leave I, <br /> shall be kept confidential by the employer � <br /> 10.19 Military Leave � <br /> State and federal laws provide protections and benefits to City employees who are called to <br /> military service,whether in the reserves or on active duty. Such employees are entitled to a leave ; <br /> of absence without loss of pay, seniority status, efficiency rating, or benefits for the time the � <br /> employee is engaged in training or active service not exceeding a total of 15 days in any calendar <br /> year. <br /> The leave of absence is only in the event the employee returns to employment with the City as <br /> required upon being relieved from service, or is prevented from returning by physical or mental <br /> disability or other cause not the fault of the employee, or is required by the proper authority to <br /> continue in military or naval service beyond the fifteen (15) day paid leave of absence. I <br /> Employees on extended unpaid military leave will receive fifteen (15) days paid leave of <br /> absence in each calendar year, not to exceed five years. � <br /> Where possible, notice is to be provided to the City at least ten (10)working days in advance of �i <br /> the requested leave.
