PEQUOT LAKES COMMUNITY LIBRARY BOARD POLICY <br /> VOLUNTEER SERVICES <br /> Confirmed: June 20,2017 <br /> The mission of Volunteer Services is to provide volunteers to assist,enhance and support the work <br /> of the Pequot Lakes Library. <br /> Volunteers will work under the direction and supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator. At this <br /> time, volunteers will totally organize and operate the Pequot Lakes Library. <br /> • The Pequot Lakes Library Board supports and values the contribution of each volunteer and <br /> volunteer task. The Board supports the process of volunteer management including: � <br /> • Assessing the need for volunteer sta.ff as a practical resource for the Library in reaching its I <br /> goals ; <br /> i, <br /> • Implementing Library policies for the volunteer program <br /> • Supporting volunteer program management principles: i <br /> o program planning and development ' <br /> o development of written job descriptions and expectations I <br /> o marketing and recruitment of qualified volunteer applicants <br /> o interviewing and screening of volunteers <br /> o appropriate training and role assignment I <br /> o supervision and evalua.tion of volunteers <br /> o maintenance of volunteer personnel records <br /> o recognition of volunteer efforts <br /> o program evaluaxion <br /> 0 ongoing assessment of needs <br /> 7 <br />
