The library is a non-partisan institution,
supplying, as nearly as possible, material on all subjects but offering no personal
interpreta.tions.
• Greet patrons pleasantly and provide courteous service.
• Wear clean and well-maintained attire appropriate to the type of work they do. Shoes are
required and must also be well-maintained. Good grooming is required. In compliance
with this policy, the following are examples of unaccepta.ble attire: torn,patched/faded
clothing;tube, halter, or tank tops; muscle shirts; strapless sundresses; sweatsuits/warm-
up suits or sweatpants; shirts with slogans or large letter advertising, shorts shorter than
mid-thigh, or thong-type sandals.
• Exercise moderation in the use of scented products such as perfumes, in consideration ''
that some volunteers and patrons may be allergic to them. i
• Check out materials in the same manner as the public. Taking library material without
checking it out in the regular manner constitutes a misdemeanor or a felony, depending
on the value of the material. !
I

36
