City Council Minutes December 3,2007 Page 4 of 9 ---------------------------- �,.- COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 07-10 AMENDING SECTION 7.1 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO MODIFY ONSITE SIGNS. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 7.1 C. Ordinance Amendment to Establishing Fence Standards in the Shoreline Residential Zone—Applicant (City of Pequot Lakes) Dawn Bittner noted that the Planning Commission is recommending the establishment of fence standards in the shoreline residential zone. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 07-11 AMENDING SECTION 5.8 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH FENCE STANDARDS IN THE SHORELINE RESIDENTIAL ZONE. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 7.2. Request for Garaqe Permit Refund — Kevin Nelson Dawn Bittner sent letters to Kevin Nelson on two occasions `�-- regarding the offer to extend his original permit for the construction of a fence and garage with no additional fees. Ms. Bittner has not received a response from Mr. Nelson and is recommending the Council not refund the permit fee of$199.40. COUNCIL MEMBER ORASKOVICH MOVED TO NOT REFUND THE PERMIT FEE OF $199.40 TO KEVIN NELSON. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. 7.3. Request for Fence Permit Refund � Dawn Bittner has been working with a properly owner to resolve a potential violation/enforcement action for exterior storage and abandoned vehicles. The property owner has agreed to construct a fence to screen the items from view. However, due to a lack of financial resources the property owner is unable to pay the permit fee. COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD MOVED TO WAIVE THE $75.00 FENCE PERMIT FEE. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. �
