Pequot <br /> es <br /> NEW BUSINESS—POROUS ASPHALT <br /> Agenda Item: 6 (d) <br /> Background Information: The City of Pequot Lakes has not recognized <br /> pervious pavers in the past due to maintenance issues. If pervious pavers are not <br /> maintained properly they become clogged and impervious. <br /> The City recently received a request to use porous asphalt for a parking lot where <br /> the impervious coverage exceeded the maximum allowed. Anderson Brothers <br /> provided the attached information. The following is from a June 1, 2017 email <br /> from Doug Busbey, Commercial Project Manager for Anderson Brothers <br /> Construction Company. <br /> Dawn, <br /> I understand you have some questions on the maintenance of porous pavement. <br /> We annually schedule a vacuum truck for this area and they go around to all the projects <br /> we have done over the years for a reasonable price of less than$200.00 each. <br /> My opinion this is the most effective,to date, in managing suspended solids and heavy <br /> metals because most of the storm basins,though require maintenance,rarely are they <br /> done at a timely basis. <br /> Applicable Regulations: <br /> Section 17-3.2. DEFINITIONS <br /> 126. Impervious Surface.
