City of
.
Pequott
Lakes—
AGENDA ITEM #11.5
REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
Date: November 1, 2011
Subject: Consider Purchase of Equipment for Recording
Council Meetings
Report: The Council requested the Clerk to research the
`- cost to play back council meetings on the public access
cable channel. I received quotes from four vendors (quotes
are attached).
The process consists of the following: Purchase a video
camera and have it installed. Software will then be installed
on a laptop computer. (The existing laptop is several years
old and will have to be updated to handle the video /audio
files). The video file will then be copied to a DVD format.
This format is necessary to send to Brainerd School for
play -back on the Cable TV channel. The video file will
then be converted to a format that can be sent to a video -
hosting service which is necessary to put the video on the
internet. There may be some associated costs for Cascade
Computers or another company to assist in the conversions
' of the files and getting us started in this endeavor.
