Pequot Lakes Police Monthly Report <br /> June 2017: <br /> During the month of June (1st-30tt'),the Pequot Lakes Police Department has a record of 405 <br /> calls for service. Call types include but are not limited to: <br /> • Drug Information <br /> • Disturbance <br /> • Domestic <br /> • Fire <br /> • Shooting Complaint <br /> • Suspicious Activity, Person,Vehicle <br /> • Theft <br /> • Welfare Check <br /> Notable Calls: <br /> On 6/27/17, Officer Sheri Fyle was on routine patrol when she observed a white van driving on <br /> a closed portion of the old highway between Paul Bunyan Trail Dr. and Co Rd 112.The vehicle <br /> crossed over the southbound lane of traffic and into the ditch to get onto the newly <br /> constructed Hwy 371 where it continued northbound. Officer Fyle attempted to initiate a traffic <br /> stop however the van did not stop. Officer Fyle was soon assisted by a Crow Wing County <br /> Deputy in the pursuit. The van continued to flee for approximately five miles when it came to a <br /> stop.The driver was taken into custody without incident and charged with speeding, drive <br /> around barricades,flee in a motor vehicle and violate conditions of release. The vehicle is <br /> pending forfeiture. <br /> On 6/28/17, Officer Matt Jorgens received information over the radio from a Baxter officer in <br /> reference a suspect vehicle where a person tried to cash a large check at a bank in Baxter.The <br /> vehicle was possibly headed north toward Pequot Lakes. Officer Jorgens located the vehicle <br /> near Co Rd 16 and verified it was the correct vehicle by the license plate.Along with the <br /> assistance of a Nisswa officer, Officer Jorgens initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle near Hwy <br /> 371 and Veterans St. All four occupants of the vehicle were detained as the officers began a <br /> search of the vehicle. During the search, officers recovered several fraudulent checks, over <br /> $750 worth of merchandise purchased from the Mille Lacs Indian Museum, methamphetamine <br /> and drug paraphernalia.All four individuals were arrested and the vehicle was seized pending <br /> forfeiture.All of the merchandise recovered was returned to an employee of the museum. <br /> Besides these two traffic stops, officers forfeited two other vehicles from traffic stops for a total <br /> of four for the month of June. <br />
