Economic Development Commission Minutes <br />October 18, 2011 <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />-------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />Patrick Smith stated that it is the EDC's goal to encourage development and to <br />consider incentives that will attract development. He suggested a partial waiver of <br />SAC /WAC fees. Council Member Ryan stated that he would be resistant to using <br />water and sewer funds for economic development. <br />Sheila Haverkamp stated that BLADC in conjunction with the Chamber, <br />Brainerd, and Baxter hired an intern to do comparisons of city fees and charges <br />with surrounding cities. She indicated that she would share the results when they <br />are finalized. Ak <br />Chair Ed Larsen stated that he would like the EDC t into a tiered system for <br />WAC /SAC charges. Council Member Ryan Indic t would be appropriate <br />er <br />for the EDC to look at how water and wastew : im development. <br />The EDC felt that is it necessary to deve a tiered WAC /SA chedule. <br />Once this is accomplished the use of AC c d possibly be s an <br />incentive tool. It was the consensus of the to ed with est fishing a <br />WAC /SAC policy and to look at ERU's. <br />4. Lime Greenery <br />`-' Discussion was held regarding w er o cont' e the tax increment for <br />TIF District 1 -9. It s noted that rict ntly in default. The EDC <br />discussed the ssigmng TIF Dis t.
