As discussed during our meeting, MDH staff will be arranging to collect water samples from your two wells for tritium, stable isotopes, and a couple of other general chemistry parameters that will assist us in better characterizing the aquifer serving your wells. The water quality results will be incorporated into your amended plan. We will continue to work with you to be sure the well location information is entered into the County Well Index (CWI) database. The well location information will be very useful as we move forward to amend Part I of your wellhead plan. Finally, it is our understanding that you will serve officially as wellhead protection manager on behalf of the city of Pequot Lakes. You are responsible for providing written notice to local units of government of the city's intent to amend their Wellhead Protection Plan, as required by the wellhead protection rule (part 4720.5300, subpart 3). A copy of this notice should be forwarded to MDH and �-- must include listing the public wells, the unique well numbers, and contact information for you as wellhead protection manager. Mark Wettlaufer, your Source Water Protection Unit Planner, can provide you with some examples of the notification of intent that other systems have used if you do not have a copy of your original notice of intent.
