Pequot Lakes Police Monthly Report <br /> May 2017: <br /> During the month of May(1St-31St),the Pequot Lakes Police Department has a record of 396 <br /> calls for service. Call types include but are not limited to: <br /> • 911 Hang Up <br /> • Alarm <br /> • Damage To Property <br /> • Disturbance <br /> • Driving Complaint <br /> • Domestic <br /> • Drug Information <br /> • Ems (medicals) <br /> • Fight <br /> • Intoxicated Person <br /> • Motorist Assist <br /> • Property Damage Accident <br /> • Shooting Complaint <br /> • Suicidal Person <br /> • Suspicious Activity, Person &Vehicle <br /> • Theft <br /> • Welfare Check <br /> Notable Calls: <br /> On 5/9/2017 at approximately midnight, Officer Ryan Franz initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle <br /> for inoperable headlight and crossing the fog line. The suspect vehicle, 1976 orange Chevy <br /> Corvette,fled at a high rate of speed.After a short pursuit, an officer from another agency <br /> successfully removed the vehicle from the roadway via a PIT(precision immobilization <br /> technique) maneuver. After the vehicle came to a stop,the suspect was Tasered due to his non- <br /> compliance of verbal commands. He was then taken into custody and transported to the <br /> hospital for medical clearance before he was taken to jail. It was later discovered that the <br /> suspect had stolen the vehicle from his girlfriend's father. <br /> On 5/27/2017, Officer Steve Emerson was enjoying lunch at Dairy Queen when he recognized a <br /> male in a Chevy Blazer in the drive thru,who was known to have an active felony warrant for <br /> his arrest. Officer Emerson acted quickly to follow the suspect vehicle. After attempting to stop <br /> the vehicle,the driver fled before stopping and fleeing on foot through a swampy area. With <br /> the help of a Crow Wing County deputy, his K9 partner and the Minnesota State Patrol <br /> Helicopter,the male was later apprehended and taken into custody without incident. <br />
