NOTES FROM COUNTY ROAD 11 MEETING
SEPTEMBER 29, 2011
1. They will be studying highway 11 both with and without the future intersection at 371.
They will also be looking at an off -road pedestrian access between Pequot Lakes and
Breezy point.
2. They need a copy of the land use map along the Highway 11 corridor all the way
through Pequot Lakes (to Landis + Gyr). They also need a land use map along Akerson
Road to Bushman Road.
3. The City needs to form a committee immediately to decide what we want Hwy. 11 to
look like from the new 371 intersection to the current 371 intersection. Highway 11 will
be ours. This includes width of the street, parking, and everything that goes with it.
4. We need the Comp Plan passed so the County can use it. Is the comp plan on line a
completed copy even though it is not passed? (Justin of Community Growth is checking
& will call Bolton & Menk)
5. It is believed that there will be more traffic on the leg of 11 from Breezy Point to the
new 371 intersection once that is open. Also, Akerson/Bushman traffic will increase
when the new 371 Akerson Road exit occurs.
6. With regard to the 2012 project, the county does have to do the ADA requirements so
there will be increased cost to the city.
