building). Derksen Road was recently paved (estimated to be a 10-ton
rating), and allows access right out to the future Patriot Avenue.
RECOMMENDATION No. 3: The Core Team recommends not
constructing an unheated, unconditioned (we will call it 'cold storage')
building right away. The Core Team believes that cold storage needs
will be accomplished in the near future using existing City facilities
(there will be a transition period from using and moving out of existing
City facilities to this new facility). The Core Team recommends that
the cold storage building shown on the Conceptual Site Layout Sketch
get budgeted and built in roughly a 5 (or more) year time span as
operations dictate.
RECOMMENDATION No. 4: The Core Team agreed that WSN
should prepare and present a Final Design Phase, Bidding Phase, and
Construction Phase Services proposal. We did not have the proposal for
the Core Team meeting. Attached is that proposal. The Council can
decide to keep the process moving forward and approve the proposal,
or wait another month.
