0W Pequot Lakes Community Library Minutes to Meeting of Board of Directors September 20, 2011 Chairman John Longnecker brought the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Present: Board members John Longnecker, Claire Nagel, Jean Clark, Shirley Johnson, Lydia Loven, Sam Hennies. Also present: Harry Olson, visitor, and Jerry Akerson, liaison to city council. Claire Nagel, seconded by Lydia Loven, approved the meeting minutes of August 2011. David Anderson presented treasurer's report. We have in the main checking account $6,536.81. We have in the Building Fund account $4,161.10. A motion was made by Lydia Loven, seconded by Jean Clark to pay Tom Adams $2,000 of the balance owed him. This will be taken from the building fund checking account. Treasurer's report was accepted by Jean Clark and seconded by Shirley Johnson. President's report: The grant written for meeting room furniture was turned down. John Longnecker found several diaper - changing tables on the Internet. Board members looked over the possibilities and chose a Koala Horizontal table #KB200 -11 to be purchased and installed in the Children's Room bathroom. He will also order a box of 500 disposable protective sheets for it. Moved by Jean Clark, seconded by Claire Nagel. The Basket Auction and Social Evening will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from 6 -9 p.m. at Deacon's Lodge. Tickets are now available. Board members will be hosts/hostesses at various times in the evening. John sent his "Miracle" article to Lake Country Journal for possible publication. The magazine still has it under consideration. Painting of the building and new signage were completed during the month of Aug. /September. Thanks to all workers for painting and to Harry Olson for paying for the signage. Saturday Book Sales at Jack Pine Center are now discontinued until spring. Over all, during the season, we made $4,569, including $2,600 from the Big July Sale. The popcorn wagon is now in winter storage. We made $832 profit during the season. Members asked by chairman Longnecker to give thought during the month to a priority list of things we'd like to get done. Possibilities are ways to temporarily divide certain areas to make room for study areas or ( ?); new carpeting in high - traffic areas; meeting room furniture; etc; etc; etc. Adjournment at 7:30 p.m.
