0W <br />Pequot Lakes Community Library <br />Minutes to Meeting of Board of Directors <br />September 20, 2011 <br />Chairman John Longnecker brought the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />Present: Board members John Longnecker, Claire Nagel, Jean Clark, Shirley Johnson, <br />Lydia Loven, Sam Hennies. Also present: Harry Olson, visitor, and Jerry Akerson, <br />liaison to city council. <br />Claire Nagel, seconded by Lydia Loven, approved the meeting minutes of August 2011. <br />David Anderson presented treasurer's report. We have in the main checking account <br />$6,536.81. We have in the Building Fund account $4,161.10. A motion was made by <br />Lydia Loven, seconded by Jean Clark to pay Tom Adams $2,000 of the balance owed <br />him. This will be taken from the building fund checking account. Treasurer's report was <br />accepted by Jean Clark and seconded by Shirley Johnson. <br />President's report: <br />The grant written for meeting room furniture was turned down. <br />John Longnecker found several diaper - changing tables on the Internet. Board members <br />looked over the possibilities and chose a Koala Horizontal table #KB200 -11 to be <br />purchased and installed in the Children's Room bathroom. He will also order a box of <br />500 disposable protective sheets for it. Moved by Jean Clark, seconded by Claire Nagel. <br />The Basket Auction and Social Evening will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2011 from <br />6 -9 p.m. at Deacon's Lodge. Tickets are now available. Board members will be <br />hosts/hostesses at various times in the evening. <br />John sent his "Miracle" article to Lake Country Journal for possible publication. The <br />magazine still has it under consideration. <br />Painting of the building and new signage were completed during the month of <br />Aug. /September. Thanks to all workers for painting and to Harry Olson for paying for the <br />signage. <br />Saturday Book Sales at Jack Pine Center are now discontinued until spring. Over all, <br />during the season, we made $4,569, including $2,600 from the Big July Sale. <br />The popcorn wagon is now in winter storage. We made $832 profit during the season. <br />Members asked by chairman Longnecker to give thought during the month to a priority <br />list of things we'd like to get done. Possibilities are ways to temporarily divide certain <br />areas to make room for study areas or ( ?); new carpeting in high - traffic areas; meeting <br />room furniture; etc; etc; etc. <br />Adjournment at 7:30 p.m. <br />
