Open Meeting Law <br /> Dawn Bittner explained the materials and discussed chance or social gatherings, <br /> serial meetings, and use of"Reply All". <br /> 10. Other Business <br /> Skate Park: <br /> Chair Ronning explained after receiving written requests for a Skate Park, a Sub- <br /> Committee had met with some parents and kids to ascertain how much interest <br /> there was. There is a lot of interest; the School Principal took an unofficial <br /> survey of who was interested and approximately 200 kids raised their hand. <br /> There have been 3 meetings and the group is discussing designs. The designs <br /> will be posted at the Library and comments will be collected. <br /> The next step is to gather information from the comments and see what can be <br /> done for funding. Their preferred location is the south end of the City Hall <br /> parking lot. Other locations include the Baptist Church parking lot, Moberg <br /> properties south of the former spray irrigation field and Gildner Park. The area <br /> needed is 100' X 100'. <br /> The group is aware the City is not going to fund this; the City cannot solicit funds. <br /> Crosby is the closest skate park and they have said the location next to the <br /> Police Station is ideal. <br /> COMMISSIONER NAGEL MOVED TO NOTIFY THE CITY COUNCIL THAT <br /> THE PARK COMMISSION SUPPORTS A SKATE PARK CONCEPT <br /> CONTINGENT THERE IS NO CITY FUNDING INVOLVED, OTHER THAN <br /> ONGOING MAINTENANCE. COMMISSIONER JURCHEN SECONDED THE <br /> MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 4-0. <br /> Member Vacancy: <br /> Chair Ronning informed the Commissioner Billie Jean Caouette had resigned <br /> due to family obligations. If any Commissioners know of someone interested in <br /> serving, have them fill out an application and submit to City Hall. <br />
