International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)- I am requesting permission to attend the IACP Conference in Chicago October 21— 26, 2011. The conference is rive days of result oriented education on strategies and solutions on law enforcement issues and trends. This conference provides some of the best educational training from around the country, keeping us abreast of the latest trends and proactive approaches in law enforcement. The information received at this conference will prove to be invaluable in recognizing and implementing solutions to problems that we face in our community. There is a specific track for smaller agencies; some of the many classes that are offered are Advanced Community Policing, Data Driven Decision Making, Internet and Online Crimes, Leading Agencies during Periods of Economic Decline, Leadership Strategies for Doing More with Less and Intelligence Led Policing in a Smaller Agency. These are just a few that make this conference valuable. I am currently a member of the IACP. There will be no hotel or food expenses associated with this conference; the only cost to the City would be the airfare estimated at approximately $220.00. This expense is allocated in my current budget.
