City of
AGENDA ITEM #9.2
Pc not
Lakes-- _--- _
REPORT TO
CITY COUNCIL
Report Prepared by: Nancy Malecha
Date: April 4, 2017
Subiect: Resolution Supporting Dedicated State Funding
for City Streets
Report: In a recent bulletin from the League of Minnesota
Cities, it was noted that the League is supporting an
omnibus transportation funding bill which would raise
approximately $57 million annually for dedicated state
funding of city streets. Half of the funds would be directed
to the Small Cities Assistance Account for cities with
populations under 5,000 and half would be dedicated to a
new Larger City Streets and Bridges Account for cities of
more than 5,000 in population. Please see the attached Fact
Sheet for further information.
If the City Council agrees with the omnibus transportation
funding bill, the attached resolution can be adopted and
sent to our legislators informing them of the City's
position.
