Pequot Lakes Police Dept Report to the City Council July 2011 For the month of July the Department logged 216 individual ICRs. Current Activities: During the month, the Reserves, Full -Time and Part-Time Officers conducted 44 individual security checks of businesses and homes with no open door found. On July P, Reserve Officers assisted with traffic control after the fireworks and with placement of no parking signs on the parade route. On July 4th, the Pequot Lakes Police Department Police Officers and Reserve Officer's assisted with traffic and crowd control for the 4th of July parade in Pequot Lakes. Nisswa and Breezy Point Police Department also assisted with traffic control. On July 13th, the Pequot Lakes Police Department Reserve Unit did foot patrol for Beanhole Days. On July 20th, Officer Josh Gartner attended a one day training to become a certified Taser X2 Instructor. This training gives Officer Josh Gartner the ability to train new users on the X2 Tasers. On July 26th, Officer Kate Petersen, Officer Josh Gartner and Officer Josh Gartner attended K -9 training at the Baxter Police Department. The Baxter Police Department has a dual purpose dog and the training was to bring officers up to speed on techniques and ideas if they would ever find themselves assisting in a K -9 search regardless of the task they are asked to do.
