Planning and Zoning Department <br /> Year End Review <br /> Highlights for 2016: <br /> Ordinance Amendment — Interim Uses. The City Code was amended to include <br /> Extractive Use as an Interim Use. <br /> Ordinance Amendment— Extractive Use. The City Code was amended to require a <br /> Certificate of Survey and two additional maps. <br /> Sibley Lake Park Improvements — The Planning Commission approved a Variance <br /> to locate playground equipment within the 50-foot right-of-way setback from Pequot <br /> Blvd. <br /> Review the Future Land Use Map as it relates to the realignment of TH 371 — <br /> The Planning Commission spent several meetings discussing potential modifications to <br /> the Future Land Use Map. New mapping was included in the 2017 Budget and will be <br /> completed in 2017. <br /> Ordinance Amendment — Fence Height. The City Code was amended regarding <br /> maximum fence height in several zoning classifications. <br /> Ordinance Amendment —Accessory Structures. The City Code was amended <br /> regarding accessory structures in the Forest Management,Agriculture and Rural <br /> Residential zoning classifications. <br /> Temporary Health Care Dwellings — The Planning Commission reviewed the new <br /> legislation and their general consensus was to not make a recommendation to the City <br /> Council to opt out,to wait to see what happens, and re-address it in the future if it is <br /> necessary. <br /> Comprehensive Plan Implementation — Event Parking. The Planning <br /> Commission, City Staff and the Chamber reviewed the regulations for vendor parking <br /> and concurred only minimal language additions were necessary.
