Pequot Lakes Police Dept <br />Report to the City Council <br />June 2011 <br />For the month of June the Department logged 198 individual ICRs. <br />Current Activities: <br />During the month, the Reserves, Full -Time and Part-Time Officers conducted 154 <br />individual security checks of businesses and homes with one open door found. <br />On June 4th, the Pequot Lakes Police Department and Reserve Unit assisted with foot <br />patrol and traffic control for the Cherry Car Show and Tour of Lakes Bike Ride. <br />On June 7th —10th, the Pequot Lakes Community Education held their yearly Safety Kids <br />at the Pequot Lakes School. During those four days, Acting Chief Kate Petersen helped <br />with Safety Town where she taught the kids how to stop at stop signs, follow street signs <br />and how to cross streets safely. <br />On June 18th, K -9 Officer Josh Gartner attended the Pet Parade with Shadow. <br />On June 21St, Acting Chief Kate Petersen and Officer John Ryan attended a Forfeiture <br />Training that was held at the State Patrol office in Baxter, MN. <br />On June 28th, Acting Chief Kate Petersen, Officer Chad Nangle, Officer Chris Melberg <br />and Officer Josh Herold attended the precision drivers training in Hibbing, MN. This <br />training is mandatory for all officers in the state every four years. <br />On June 30th, the Crow Wing County Attorney's Office held training at the Pequot Lakes <br />Police Department on redacting information on police reports. The officers also viewed a <br />video on Say Something, See Something which was received from the State of <br />Minnesota. This trained the officers what to look for if ever dealing with terrorists. The <br />officers also recertified with the BCA's Mobile Access Certification.
