The Clerk's office requested proposals from two other web
designers. One came in at $2,500 and the other came in at
$4,950.
The Clerk's staff has been using the present software
(GovOffice) for the website over the past 8 years. We feel
there is an advantage in being familiar with the software
and are very satisfied with the support service.
There are no funds budgeted for this project in 2011. Two
potential funding sources would be the Council
Contingency Fund ($8,200) and the Capital Outlay
Carryover Funds from the Cable Commission ($10,052).
Another option would be to budget for the upgrade in 2012.
Council Action Requested: If the Council decides that
this is a project they are interested in pursuing, I
recommend that we continue using GovOffice and
purchase the $2,000 website design package.
