MONTHLY STAFF REPORT
City Clerk's Office
May, 2007
Meetings
May 1 Capital Improvement Meeting with Engineers and Staff
May 1 Council Meeting
May 1 Hwy 371 Meeting
May 3 Monthly Safety Board Meeting
May 3 Region V Meeting
May 3 Monthly Staff Meeting
May 9 Budget Meetings with Department Heads
May 9 Bid Opening
May 10 Board of Review Meeting
May 10 Special Council Meeting
May 10 Park Board Meeting
May 14-17 Financial Training
May 29 Hwy 371 Sub Committee Meeting
Projects/Issues
The main focus for the Clerk's office during the month of May has been training and
implementation of the new financial software. Nancy Malecha and I attended training in
Bloomington. The training was very intensive and lasted four days. So far we are very
pleased with the software. The software company, Civic, handled the conversion of our
data. They worked with our Auditor and Nancy and I during the process. So far we have
not run into any problems. The company's support is excellent. It will take awhile for us
to become 100% familiar and comfortable with the software. We are confident that the
City made a good choice with this system.
In the next couple of months,we will begin working with department heads to teach them
how to access reports and information that they will need or would like to have from the
software program.
