Ma r. 21. 2007 10:40AM No. 2518 P. 2
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources
Management Resources
500 Lafayette Road
St,Paul,Minnesota 55155-4029
Phone:651.259.5451
'NATIla*'
Date: 3/20/07
To: Mike Loven, City of Pequot Lakes
Mike Loss, DNR
Gary Drotts, DNR
From: Melinda Wargo
Landscape Design Specialist
Project: LOWELL WMA ACCESSIBLE DOCK& PARKING
Subject: Project Plan
(IV/-,!Ka 40d)
This document is in regards to a project located on Rice Lake Road (road number 148) in
Pequot Lakes. The funding was an area gift, and the land is not owned by the DNR but we
do have verbal permission to build on it, and are in the process of obtaining written approval.
The dock will serve as a chance for children from the nearby school, as well as others, to see
parts of the wetland that they aren't able to from shore, providing an effective way of teaching
them of the biological & ecological communities that exist around them. The project includes
an accessible parking lot for access to the accessible educational dock across the existing
gravel road. Class 2 aggregate will make up the parking lot, and a portion of the road to join
the two amenities. All areas of Class 2 in this plan will be maintained by the Department of
Natural Resources, Division of Fish & Wildlife. The project is scheduled for completion this
summer.
C: Jason Peterson
