6.1. Amendment to Preliminary Plat for RV Resort at the Preserve — Dan
Helbling
Staff report by Chuck Marohn. Mr. Marohn noted that the applicant is
requesting an amendment to the previous preliminary plat. The applicant
has acquired the parcel that was surrounded by the previously approved
resort. The plat would create 172 lots of which 168 are for RV units, one
for a community building, one for a sales building, one for a caretaker and
a final lot for common space.
MAYOR MALECHA MOVED TO AMEND THE PRELIMINARY PLAT OF
THE RV RESORT VILLAGE AT THE PRESERVE BASED ON TEN
FINDINGS OF FACT AND TWO CONDITIONS RECOMMENDED BY
THE PLANNING COMMISSION AS LISTED IN THE PLANNING
COMMISSION REPORT TO THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL DATED
MARCH 20, 2006. COUNCIL MEMBER NAGEL SECONDED THE
MOTION. MOTION CARRIED 5-0.
6.2. Ordinance Amendment governing the Operation and Rehabilitation of
Extractive Uses
Staff report by Chuck Marohn. Mr. Marohn noted that the Planning
Commission has been working to tighten up the language in Section 8.5 of
the land use ordinance pertaining to extractive uses and restoration. The
Planning Commission's goal was to ensure that there is sufficient
information provided to appropriately review an application and to protect
the long-term interests of the community. The Planning Commission has
unanimously recommended the adoption of the proposed ordinance
amendment.
MAYOR MALECHA MOVED TO ADOPT ORDINANCE 07-03
AMENDING SECTION 8.5 OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE GOVERNING
THE OPERATION AND REHABILITATION OF EXTRACTIVE USES.
COUNCIL MEMBER SJOBLAD SECONDED THE MOTION.
