Engineer Tim Houle updated
those present on the process that took place to get to the draft plan that was
before the Council and Planning Commission. The draft plan was titled Arterial
Road Plan 2006. Tim noted that the plan includes comments and suggestions
from the Planning Commission, Council, and staff, and has been reviewed by the
same groups. Tim indicated that the plan is a planning tool and will be amended
from time to time as the City develops.
Discussion was held regarding prioritization of the proposed roads. Tim indicated
that prioritization would more than likely be one of the steps that would happen
after the plan is adopted.
Discussion took place regarding the area by the school and the fact that it should
be a top priority.
Discussion took place regarding whether the plan should identify connector
roads. It was noted that the plan was an arterial road plan and therefore did not
identify other roads. It was also discussed whether the plan should identify
existing arterial roads.
