Pequot Lakes Police Dept. <br /> Report to City Council <br /> February 3, 2006 <br /> For the month of January the Department logged over 150 ICRs,with several incidences requiring <br /> extended investigation time. <br /> Office Rich Hogan's father-in-law passed away this week. The entire Department will attend the <br /> funeral next week, in full uniform to provide support to Officer Hogan and his family. <br /> The Department would like to recognize Northern Food King and their generous donation to provide <br /> K-9 Officer Shadow with his dog food for the year. <br /> Equipment: <br /> The Department was recently awarded a$1,000 grant towards the purchase of a new AED <br /> (Defibrillator), which will allow the Department to have access to this equipment in all of our squad <br /> cars. The Chief's Expedition was put into service on Januar7 18th and as of this date, 2 of the new <br /> squad cars have been completed and are being used. The 3r car will be ready for service by Feb. 10th <br /> Activities: <br /> Deputy Chief Ryan has been working on several cases with the School District and the Restorative <br /> Justice program in recent weeks. He has also been involved with the Crisis Management Team, dealing <br /> recently with the School District wide impact of the Stork family's tragic deaths. <br /> Officer Chad Nangle recently provided training to the local Banks regarding security procedures. <br /> Training: <br /> Jan 23rd—26th: Chief Braam attended the MN Chief's of Police Command School in Little <br /> Falls. This was an excellent training, covering several important topics i.e. Data <br /> Practices, Media Relations, Policy and Procedures, Budgeting, etc. <br /> Upcoming: <br /> Feb 22nd : Department mandatory annual trainings, i.e. Defensive tactics, Blood born pathogens, <br /> Use of Force as well as several others. <br /> Mar 6th—9th: Deputy Chief John Ryan will attend Leadership Training at Camp Ripley. <br /> Mar 10th: Office Admin. Janet Wedan and Deputy Clerk Nancy Malecha will attend training for <br /> implementing the Restorative Justice grant the City was awarded in January. <br /> 1 <br />
