MEETING OF THE PEQUOT LAKES <br /> PARK BOARD <br /> THURSDAY, JULY 14, 2005 <br /> CITY HALL <br /> Members Present: Del Anderson, Ron Schaefer, Trudy Jurchen, and Faye <br /> Tweed <br /> Staff Present: Mike Loven, Street Superintendent; Mayor Malecha; and <br /> Sandy Peine, City Clerk <br /> 1. Call Meeting to Order <br /> Del Anderson called the meeting together at 9:00 a.m. <br /> 2. 6/9/2005 Park Board Minutes <br /> THE 619/2005 PARK BOARD MINUTES WERE APPROVED AS <br /> PRESENTED. <br /> 3. War Memorial <br /> The Park Board discussed the placement and size of the war memorial. <br /> Chair Anderson indicated that Jack Schmidt would like to show the <br /> proposed placement of the war memorial. The Park Board requested to <br /> have Jack at the next meeting. <br /> 4. Park Improvements <br /> The Clerk indicated that she was still working with the DNR in regard to <br /> the City owning the park. The DNR is going through the procedures to see <br /> if it is possible. They have given the verbal OK to move forward with the <br /> proposed improvements. Ron asked whether it would be possible to put in <br /> a pond/fountain about 6" deep? The Clerk indicated that we would need <br /> an OK from the DNR for the pond. The Clerk stated that the bids for the <br /> electric and pathway were approved by the Council. It was decided to get <br /> bids for the watering system and the picnic shelter. <br /> Discussion was held regarding the craft fair. The Park Board felt they <br /> could be more organized. The Board decided that rules must be put <br /> together to provide parking for the crafters so as to eliminate driving on the <br /> park. It was suggested to only allow crafters on the outside perimeter of <br /> the pathway. The sprinkler heads would then be placed on the inside of <br /> the pathway. It was also decided that the City would not provide water or <br /> electricity for the crafters. <br />
