Pequot Lakes Library <br />Minutes to Meeting of May 17, 2011 <br />Present: John Longnecker, Lydia Loven, Shirley Johnson, Claire Nagel, Liaison to City <br />Council Jerry Akerson and Nancy Adams. Not present: Dave Anderson, Sam Hennes <br />and Jean Clark. <br />Meeting was called to order by Chairman John Longnecker at 6:30 p.m. Minutes to last <br />month's meeting were approved by Lydia Loven and seconded by Claire Nagel. <br />In the absence of treasurer David Anderson, the board reviewed the treasurer's report. <br />The library has $65,083.30 total in CD's; $12,468.45 total in checking account; and <br />$16,402.08 total in Building Fund checking, which equals a total of $93,953.83. A <br />motion was made by Claire Nagel, seconded by Shirley Johnson, to move $2,000 from <br />the checking account to the building fund checking account and to issue a check for <br />$2,000 to Tom Adams toward the repayment of his loan from the building fund checking <br />account, which will bring the balance owed Mr. Adams to $16,000. Motion carried. <br />Motion by Claire, seconded by Shirley, to approve the treasurer's report. Carried. <br />Washing of the building exterior will be done Tuesday, May 24, by John Longnecker, <br />Nancy Adams and Jerry Rondeau. This will be in preparation of the building being <br />stained and painted. The library is a recipient of a grant from Valspar, who will supply <br />the stain and paint. When the building is being painted (date unknown), pictures will be <br />taken for publicity for the library and for Valspar. <br />The popcorn wagon will be moved Sunday, May 29 from the Adams' outbuilding to the <br />Pequot Lakes Bobberland Park, near the bandstand, where hopefully it will remain all <br />summer. The board is looking for a person or persons to man the wagon during the <br />summer weekends. <br />Friends of the Library report, by John Longnecker. A motion was made by John <br />Longnecker, seconded by Lydia Loven that all new library card purchasers will <br />automatically be made "Friends of the Library."
