' <br /> ORDINANCE #199 <br /> AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR <br /> EMPLOYEE AND/OR VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF PEQUOT LAKES DOES HEREBY ORDAIN: <br /> The Crow Wing County Sheriffs Department on behalf of the Pequot Lakes <br /> Police Department is authorized to conduct a criminal history background <br /> investigation on applicants for positions with the City. <br /> This applies only to applicants who are finalists for paid or volunteer positions <br /> with the City, where the Department Head or City Council has determined that <br /> conviction of a crime may relate directly to the position sought. <br /> The Police Department may not perform a background investigation unless the <br /> applicant consents in writing to the investigation and to the release of information <br /> to the City Staff as appropriate.
