SECTION II INTENT AND PURPOSE This Ordinance is established pursuant to the authority granted by Minnesota Statutes, in particular the Municipal Planning Act, Minnesota Statutes 1983 Sections 462.351 to 461.364, the Municipal Shoreland Act, Minnesota Statutes 1973 Section 379, Minnesota Statutes 1980 Sections 462.351 to 462.364, The Land Subdivision and Condominiums Acts, Chapters 462, 505, 515, 515A and 515B and Policies in Minnesota Statutes, Section 105,115 and 116, and any Amendments thereto. This Ordinance hereby repeals????1 for the City of Peciuot Lakes. ---Comment:Need official name of Ptxpot ardmanx 2.1 This Ordinance is adopted for the purpose of: 1. Protecting the public health,safety,comfort,convenience and general welfare. 2. Inaugurating and effectuating the goals of the Comprehensive Plan. 3. Promoting order in development by dividing the area of the City into zones and regulating therein the location, construction,reconstruction, alteration and use of the structures and land. 4. Conserving the natural and scenic beauty and attractiveness of the City, for the health and welfare of the public. 5. Providing for adequate light, air and access to property by regulating the use of the land and buildings and the bulk of structures in relation to surrounding properties. 6. Providing for the administration of the provisions of the ordinance and defining the authority and duties of the Administrator, Planning Commission,Board of Adjustment,Parks Committee and City Council under this ordinance. 7. Providing standards and criteria for shorelands to preserve and enhance the quality of surface waters, conserve the economic and natural environment values of shorelands and provide for the wise use of water and related land resources for the City.
