ORDINANCE NO. 08-10, SECOND SERIES <br /> �. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 15 OF THE CITY CODE <br /> RELATING TO WATER REGULATIONS <br /> CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> COUNTY OF CROW WING <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> The City Council of the City of Pequot Lakes does ordain as follows: <br /> Purpose and Intent. The purpose and intent of this ordinance amendment is to amend <br /> Chapter 15 of the Pequot Lakes City Code relating to water regulations within the City of <br /> Pequot Lakes. <br /> Amendment. Chapter 15, Article 2 shall be amended as follows: <br /> Section 15-2.8 (2) Shut Off For Non-Payment Utility Bill <br /> 2. Procedure for Disconnection. After giving the customer proper notice of an <br /> outstanding balance, the customer will be given a 30 day written notice, via certified mail <br /> return receipt or personal service first class, of disconnection based upon the current <br /> mailing address on file at the City. If payment is not made pursuant to the deadline <br /> outlined in the notice, the Water Supervisor may request that the customer's service be <br /> phut off, a red door tag with all pertinent information will be delivered to the front door of <br /> the property as a warning of utility shut-off, and will be subject to a disconnection and <br /> reconnection fee. <br /> The customer may request a hearing before the City Council at their next regularly <br /> scheduled meeting (the first Tuesday of each month) prior to the expiration of the thirty <br /> (30) day notice. <br /> Effective Date. This ordinance amendment shall be in full force and effect from and <br /> after passage and publication according to state law. <br /> Repeal.
