R ESOLUTION <br /> To the Minnesota Environmental Quality Council Members <br /> WHER EAS, Cooperative Power Association and United Power <br /> Association have applied to the Environmental Quality Council <br /> for approval of their plans to install a direct current transmission <br /> line from North Dakota to Minnesota, and <br /> WHEREAS, the preferred corridor is the shortest route to <br /> follow and it would be less costly, and <br /> WHEREAS, the energy provided by this line will be available for <br /> use in Crow Wing County and in particular the City of Pequot Lakes <br /> for expansion and new jobs in the community, and <br /> WHEREAS, it appears that the preferred corridor is the most <br /> feasible route to follow and it causes the least inconvenience to <br /> the fewest number of people, now therefore be it <br /> RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Pequot Lakes is <br /> unanimously in favor of the construction of this transmission line <br /> in the preferred corridor in the best interests of the people of <br /> Pequot Lakes and Crow Wing County and the State, and be it further <br /> RESOLVED, we request the Environmental Quality Council to <br /> designate the preferred corridor as the corridor to be selected. <br /> Passed this ` / day of ( — , 1975. <br /> President <br /> Secr Ory <br />
