TEMPORARY AGREEMENT �. BETWEEN CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES AND OFFICER KATE PETERSEN The City of Pequot Lakes (the "City ") and Officer Kate Petersen ( "Petersen ") enter into this Temporary Agreement with an effective date of August 16, 2010 regarding the following: The City and Petersen agree that for an indefinite and temporary period of time Petersen may be appointed as acting Chief of Police for the City. 2. The City and Petersen recognize that Petersen is a member of Teamsters Local Union No. 346 and the City and the Union has entered into a separate agreement identifying the Union's consent to the appointment. 3. During the time that Petersen is the acting Chief of Police for the City the parties agree that Petersen shall be on a leave of absence from the Union for an indefinite period of time and that during this timeframe Petersen shall carry out all duties as Chief of Police under the management of the City including discipline of any bargaining unit members. 4. During the timeframe that Petersen is the acting Chief of Police the Union does not represent Petersen. 5. During the timeframe that Petersen is the acting Chief of Police Petersen still however maintains and accrues seniority and benefits under the Union Contract and has the right to return to the bargaining unit. 6. Petersen agrees that the position of acting Chief of Police is "at will" and a temporary employment position and that Petersen may be removed from that position at any time for any reason as an at will employee. 7. The duties of Petersen as the acting Chief of Police will be the same duties as described in the attached Chief of Police Job Description. 8. The rate of pay and benefits for Petersen during the period that Petersen is the interim Chief of Police is as follows: a) Benefits will remain the same as they were with the position of Police Officer b) $22.65 per hour which is step one in the pay scale for Chief of Police
