RESOLUTION #03-130 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> REGARDING THE <br /> LIBERTY TOOL ACQUISITION <br /> Council member Sjoblad introduced the following resolution and moved for its <br /> adoption: <br /> WHEREAS, the city of Pequot Lakes is considering the purchase of the Liberty <br /> Tool property for the purpose of relocating the existing city hall, fire <br /> department, police department, planning and zoning department, <br /> street/maintenance department, and water and sewer department; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the city is currently out-growing its existing facilities and the existing <br /> facilities will require the city to spend money for additions to house <br /> maintenance vehicles and general overall maintenance such as <br /> bringing the restrooms up to code; and <br /> WHEREAS, it will be beneficial to the residents of Pequot Lakes to have all city <br /> services in one location; and <br /> WHEREAS, if the sale were to proceed, the revenues from the sale of the Sibley <br /> Center, City Hall, and maintenance facility would pay for a majority <br /> of the cost of the Liberty Tool building; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Liberty Tool building would accommodate the future growth of <br /> the City of Pequot Lakes; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council will hold an open house to receive public input prior <br /> purchasing the building. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Pequot Lakes City Council <br /> agrees to purchase the Liberty Tool Building subject to the conditions stated in <br /> the attached purchase agreement dated December 1, 2003. <br />
