CITY OF PEQUOT LAKES <br /> - RESOLUTION # 03122 <br /> Council member Cathy Malecha introduced the following resolution and moved for it's adoption: <br /> WHEREBY, the City of Pequot Lakes has formed the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of <br /> Pequot Lakes for the purpose of seeking and providing housing for the community and surrounding <br /> area; and <br /> WHEREBY, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Pequot Lakes has determined a need for <br /> an additional eight units of market-rate senior housing; and <br /> WHEREBY, the City of Pequot Lakes has formed a Housing Task Force to examine housing needs <br /> within the community: and <br /> WHEREBY, the Housing Task Force recognizes the need for more independent senior living options <br /> and that the Pequot Lakes Housing and Redevelopment Authority's project of eight additional market- <br /> rate units for seniors would be an asset in the community; and <br /> WHEREBY, the Housing Task Force recommends to the City of Pequot Lakes that this senior project <br /> should be pursued; and <br /> _ ,-HEREFORE, the City of Pequot Lakes adopts this resolution as their express commitment to the <br /> Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Pequot Lakes; supports their efforts to seek bonding <br /> through the Crow Wing County Housing and Redevelopment Authority for an eight unit market rate <br /> project; and has previously shown their support by approving the maximum levy allowed for the HRA <br /> in support of the bonding. <br /> The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council member Dave <br /> Sjoblad, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> J. Johnson, M. Pfeiffer, C. Malecha, D. Sjoblad, J. Bolz-Andolshek, J. Akerson, T.
