�-- Pequot Lakes Library Minutes to Meeting of April 19, 2011 Present: John Longnecker, Sam Hennies, Dave Anderson, Lydia Loven, Jean Clark, Shirley Johnson, Claire Nagel, Liaison to City Council Jerry Akerson and Nancy Adams. At 6:30 p.m. Chairman John Longnecker called the meeting to order. Minutes to last month's meeting were approved by David Anderson, seconded by Jean Clark. Motion carried. Treasurer David Anderson stated the Building Fund has a total of $20,169.92. A motion was made by Sam Hennies, seconded by Claire Nagel to move $2,000 from the checking account to the building fund and to issue a check to Tom Adams for $2,000 in partial payment of the loan Tom made to the library. Motion was carried. A grant from Crow Wing Power paid for the four flat-screen monitors that were installed Saturday, April 16. A motion to accept the treasurer's report was made by Claire Nagel, seconded by Sam Hennies. Volunteer coordinator Nancy Adams and publicity coordinator Claire Nagel state that all is going well in their departments. Donna Olson, materials coordinator, will be reducing the time she works at the library from four days to one day each week. She has been an ardent worker for us since before we opened and her experience and knowledge has led us in the right direction to where we are now. We will need helpers to do individual programs (such as kids' summer reading program) according to their �— talents. Sunday, May 22 from 1-3 p.m. are the date and time chosen to celebrate the library volunteers with a party. It will be held at the library. All volunteers, present and past, plus the Pequot Lakes City Council and employees will be invited. Our yearly Giant Book Sale will take place Saturday and Sunday, July 2-3. Residents of Parkview 1 have donated a large ficus tree for us to pick up from them. It will be placed in the meeting room. Heidi Holton, of KAXE, may come here to do an article about the library for Lake Country Journal. The library has won a grant from Valspar (Cabot Stain) for 4 gallons of green paint and 15 gallons of stain to do the outside of the building. In regard to Kitchigami programs, Char Oraskovich has volunteered to schedule the programs, Lydia Loven will greet and introduce the speakers or musicians and Claire Nagel will do the public relations. Shirley Johnson mentioned that the new sheets of tips near the computers axe very helpful to patrons and volunteers. � The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
