�-- Pequot Lakes Library <br />Minutes to Meeting of April 19, 2011 <br />Present: John Longnecker, Sam Hennies, Dave Anderson, Lydia Loven, Jean Clark, Shirley Johnson, <br />Claire Nagel, Liaison to City Council Jerry Akerson and Nancy Adams. <br />At 6:30 p.m. Chairman John Longnecker called the meeting to order. Minutes to last month's meeting <br />were approved by David Anderson, seconded by Jean Clark. Motion carried. <br />Treasurer David Anderson stated the Building Fund has a total of $20,169.92. A motion was made by <br />Sam Hennies, seconded by Claire Nagel to move $2,000 from the checking account to the building fund <br />and to issue a check to Tom Adams for $2,000 in partial payment of the loan Tom made to the library. <br />Motion was carried. <br />A grant from Crow Wing Power paid for the four flat-screen monitors that were installed Saturday, <br />April 16. <br />A motion to accept the treasurer's report was made by Claire Nagel, seconded by Sam Hennies. <br />Volunteer coordinator Nancy Adams and publicity coordinator Claire Nagel state that all is going well <br />in their departments. Donna Olson, materials coordinator, will be reducing the time she works at the <br />library from four days to one day each week. She has been an ardent worker for us since before we <br />opened and her experience and knowledge has led us in the right direction to where we are now. We will <br />need helpers to do individual programs (such as kids' summer reading program) according to their <br />�— talents. <br />Sunday, May 22 from 1-3 p.m. are the date and time chosen to celebrate the library volunteers with a <br />party. It will be held at the library. All volunteers, present and past, plus the Pequot Lakes City Council <br />and employees will be invited. <br />Our yearly Giant Book Sale will take place Saturday and Sunday, July 2-3. <br />Residents of Parkview 1 have donated a large ficus tree for us to pick up from them. It will be placed in <br />the meeting room. <br />Heidi Holton, of KAXE, may come here to do an article about the library for Lake Country Journal. <br />The library has won a grant from Valspar (Cabot Stain) for 4 gallons of green paint and 15 gallons of <br />stain to do the outside of the building. <br />In regard to Kitchigami programs, Char Oraskovich has volunteered to schedule the programs, Lydia <br />Loven will greet and introduce the speakers or musicians and Claire Nagel will do the public relations. <br />Shirley Johnson mentioned that the new sheets of tips near the computers axe very helpful to patrons and <br />volunteers. <br />� The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m. <br />
